Water power: Hydroelectric, wave & tidal

In nature, water has an incredible ability to move energy from one place to another. And if we’re smart, we can divert some of this free energy for our own use.

Where water power becomes an ethical issue is a matter of looking out for any unexpected consequences that arise from how we transfer this energy. The technology involved changes how the water moves and can involve massive engineering works. Where we place water power devices requires careful consideration if we are to avoid accidentally harming others.
